Homer Pride is a vibrant and inclusive volunteer lead organization composed of families, friends, neighbors, business owners, civic leaders, students, and more. We are dedicated to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community and society as a whole, with a specific focus on uplifting and supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals and individuals of all abilities. As a local 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are driven by our passionate commitment to creating a world where every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, racial background, or abilities, is embraced, celebrated, and treated with respect and equality.

Mission
Homer Pride is dedicated to fostering a sense of unity, empowerment, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the LGBTQ+ community. Over the past three years, Homer Pride's mission has expanded to include our Liberation Celebrations, which honor the rich tapestry of identities within our community. We acknowledge the intersectionality between LGBTQ+ experiences and the commemoration of Juneteenth, alongside other marginalized communities. Recognizing the historical context of both struggles for liberation and equality, we understand that unity in diversity is essential for fostering solidarity and achieving social change. Through embracing shared experiences and common goals, we aim to build coalitions, amplify voices, and advocate for a more inclusive and equitable society where all individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered. Vision
Homer Pride envisions a community characterized by a strong commitment to universal civil rights, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We strive for safe communities, workplaces, and schools where everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, can fully participate and thrive. We foresee a time when all people in Homer are empowered to live authentically and safely, with respect and love for one another, both within and outside of the LGBTQ+ community.​Homer Pride relies on the leadership, energy, and dedication of its volunteers, as well as the support of its sponsors, to transform these visions into reality. We are dedicated to fostering ongoing community education through a visible presence, outreach programs, social events, and partnerships with other organizations. Together, we aspire to make Homer a welcoming and inclusive place for all individuals and families to call home.
